DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 01: Chandigarh to Shimla
On arrival at Chandigarh station, you will be welcomed by our representative, who will transfer you to Shimla. It’s a 4-hour drive along the slopes of the Himalayas. You will pass towns like Kalka – the starting point of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kalka–Shimla Railway.
Scenic towns like Parwanoo, Barog, and Solan lie on the way. If time permits, make a stop at Pinjore Garden and the rope-way at Timber Trail Resort.
Day 02: Shimla Local Sightseeing
Start the day with a temple hopping tour by covering Tara Devi Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple, and Jakhu Temple.
If you love marvelling at architectural masterpieces, the visceral lodge makes for a good excursion. Once the residence of the Indian Viceroy, it has now been transformed into the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies.
The Army Heritage Museum is another must-visit. In the evening stroll along Mall road – the centre of attraction in Shimla. Lined with hotels, restaurants, clubs, and shops, it’s a good place to enjoy scenic views whilst enjoying a cup of coffee (Vehicle entry is prohibited on Mall Road).
You can shop at the nearby Lakkar Bazaar and look for antiques and woodwork or just enjoy the view of the city at Scandal point, a meeting place for the locals. The Christ Church and Kali Bari Temple are other popular tourist hangouts in the vicinity.
Day 03: Shimla: Explore Kufri, Fagu & Mashobra
Today, you will explore some amazing picnic spots around Shimla. There is Fagu, a small village dotted with apple and potato fields. A more popular place is Kufri, a tiny hill station, known for its hiking trails and skiing on snow-covered slopes. Kids can have a jolly time with a horse/yak ride today (optional).
Another picturesque town you should check out is Mashobra. It is draped in a forest made of pine, oak, cedar, and deodar trees. Do take a walk through the apple orchards here. Along the way, explore Naldehra, a quaint and serene town near Shimla.
Its biggest attraction is a golf course surrounded by forests. Towering snow-clad peaks loom in front of you like an iceberg over a sea of clouds.
Day 04: Shimla to Manali via Kullu/Naggar
In the morning, check-out & drive towards Manali with mini stops at Pandoh and Kullu & Naggar. It’s an 8-hour drive.
Manali, the valley of gods is a combination of natural splendour and rich cultural heritage. On arrival at Manali, you will check-in at your hotel.
Day 05: Manali Local Sightseeing
Manali has tonnes of options for sightseeing. Start with the Hadimba Temple, a unique shrine dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, wife of Bhima. It’s in the middle of a forest dotted with tall cedar trees. From here take the 30 mins uphill hike to Jogini Falls through the forest.
Later, get a dose of Tibetan culture at the Tibetan Centre & Monastery and laze around the beautifully adorned Van Vihar. A perfect place to spend a memorable time with loved ones.
In the evening, take a dip in the sulphur infused hot water springs of Vashisht village and later get dropped off at Mall Road, the bustling heart of the city, and go on a shopping spree.
Day 06: Manali: Trip to Solang Valley, Kothi & Gulaba
Start your day by exploring the charming villages of Kothi and Gulaba. While Gulaba seems straight out of a postcard, Kothi’s scenic beauty has been featured in many Bollywood Movies.
You can experience lush green meadows with wildflowers scattered around at Marhi. Do stop by for its unparalleled views. A short distance from Manali lies Rahala waterfall, another natural wonder worth ticking off your list.
If you love adventures, you will love Solang Valley. Its terrain lends itself to tonnes of activities like paragliding, zorbing, snow scooter, horse riding, and leisurely ropeway rides (cost not included) or you can just sit at a cafe and gape at the awe-inspiring beauty in front of you.
Day 07: Manali to Chandigarh drop
After breakfast, you will check-out and drive to Chandigarh Airport. It would take around 9 hours to reach.
